Photography for Art & Design
Taiwan Festival at The Coronet Theatre
I had the incredible opportunity to document the first Taiwan Festival in London, held at The Coronet Theatre in Notting Hill. Spanning an entire month, the festival celebrated Taiwanese contemporary arts through an exciting and diverse programme of dance, theatre, visual art, exhibitions, workshops, and live music.
The festival showcased over 30 contemporary artists from Taiwan, their work explored themes of Taiwanese identity, post-colonial history, politics, gender, lust, and desire — pushing creative boundaries and inviting meaningful dialogue.
I set out to capture the full experience from start to finish. From exterior shots of the theatre and excited audiences queuing outside, to the buzz of the opening night reception, powerful live performances, and the quieter moments in between. I also filmed a series of interviews with the artists, directors, and performers, offering deeper insight into the stories and creative processes behind each piece.
From a visual storytelling perspective, it was a dream to document. My role as a videographer was to observe and respond in real time — creating a video that felt immersive, emotive, and true to the festival’s spirit.
Taiwan Cinema at The Garden Cinema
I had the privilege of documenting an event at the beautiful The Garden Cinema, where they had a film screening of Days (2020), directed by the renowned Taiwanese film director Tsai Ming Liang. The evening started with a drink reception, where guests mingled, enjoyed the atmosphere, and discussed the influence of Taiwan cinema on global culture.
Following the reception, the highlight of the evening was the screening and the insightful Q&A session with actor Lee Kang-sheng, a long-time creative collaborator of Tsai Ming-liang. Lee shared his experiences working with the director, offering fans and film enthusiasts a rare glimpse into their artistic partnership.
As a professional event photographer, my aim was not only to document the evening, but to capture its energy and cultural depth that made it so special. From the quiet moments during the screening to the excitement of fans seeking autographs, I focused on telling a visual story that reflected the spirit of the event. These high-quality event photography images were used for marketing, press coverage, and archival purposes, helping to celebrate the importance of Taiwan cinema and the incredible work of Tsai Ming-liang and Lee Kang-sheng.
Events like these are a great example of how documentary-style event photography and event videography can work together to tell a compelling story—not only preserving moments, but elevating them for wider audiences.
If you're planning a cultural event, exhibition, art festival, performance showcase, and you're seeking authentic, high-quality photo and video coverage, I’d love to help bring your vision to life. With a keen eye for storytelling and a deep respect for the arts, I work to create imagery that resonates long after the event is over.
Dorothy Circus Gallery – Joe Sorren & Creative Artwork Size Shoot
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dorothy Circus Gallery for several years, photographing their art exhibition openings and private views, and capturing the unique atmosphere of each event. My role as an event and exhibition photographer has been to document the energy of the space, the interaction between visitors and artwork, and the carefully curated details that make each opening so memorable.
One of the highlights this year was photographing Joe Sorren’s solo exhibition, Between the Wrinkles. His beautifully textured, dreamlike paintings required a sensitive and thoughtful approach to lighting and composition. I aimed to reflect the mood of his work while also capturing the gallery experience and audience engagement.
In addition to covering exhibition events, this year we collaborated on a more creative studio-style shoot designed to showcase a variety of artwork sizes and framing options for potential collectors and clients. These styled photographs help highlight how different pieces might look in real-life settings — an important visual tool for galleries and art buyers alike.
Whether I’m shooting behind-the-scenes, documenting an exhibition preview, or creating clean visuals for marketing, my focus is always on storytelling — creating images that not only document, but elevate the art and the environment in which it's displayed.
Special Moments
Special moments in life such as birthdays, engagement parties, weddings, graduations, and baby showers — deserve to be remembered. High-quality photos allow us to revisit those memories for years to come.
Working with a professional photographer lets us enjoy the day while an experienced eye captures the real moments — the laughter, the little details, and the genuine emotions. Whether it’s event photography, portrait sessions, or a milestone celebration, it’s about preserving our story in the best possible way— so we can return to it with fondness and joy.
I’ve always loved seeing the care and creativity my clients put into their special occasions. Every little detail — from decorations to thoughtful touches — not only reflects their personality but also creates beautiful photo opportunities. As a London-based event photographer, it's such a privilege to be invited into these intimate, joyful moments and preserve them through my lens.
Connie’s Baby Shower at The Phene
One event that I absolutely adored photographing was Connie’s baby shower at The Phene in Chelsea. It was a sweet, stylish celebration, and a perfect example of how meaningful event photography can be. Her husband planned the entire celebration, complete with balloon and neon sign installations for photo backdrops, elegant flower arrangements, themed cupcakes, and personalised gift bags for the guests.
I had previously worked with Connie on fashion and personal branding photography for her styling business a few years ago, so it was extra special to reconnect and capture this new chapter of her life. The afternoon began with a relaxed drinks reception, followed by a lovely lunch full of heartfelt speeches from friends and family. The vibe was warm, emotional, and full of laughter — everything you would want in a celebration, and everything I love to photograph.
Alexandra’s 3rd Birthday at Bluebird Chelsea
I had the honour of photographing Alexandra's first birthday two years ago, and this year, I was excited to capture her third birthday celebration at Bluebird Chelsea.
As an event photographer in London, my approach to capturing children’s parties is all about documenting the special moments and the unique energy of the day. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I could tell this was going to be a celebration to remember. The space was beautifully transformed with Christmas magic-themed decorations, complete with an air castle, a face paint station, a ball pit that kept the little ones happily entertained for hours, and even a ballerina who brought fairy-tale vibes to life.
I always focus on more than just posed shots. The celebration started with a drink reception for the adults, while the kids jumped straight into playtime. This is where the magic happens — capturing those candid, joyful moments that truly reflect the energy of the day. After that came dinner, followed by more play, music, and dancing — the kind of energetic, joy-filled chaos that makes children’s party photography so much fun to shoot!
What I love most about being an event photographer is capturing the candid moments — the laughter, the hugs, the excitement in the air, those sweet, spontaneous moments of joy and even the quiet moment between family members. Every birthday is its own story, and I’m honoured to be able to document these cherished memories for families to treasure forever.
Ellie & Keegan’s Wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall
Ellie and Keegan’s wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall was a truly special one. Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, and I had the honour of documenting every moment — from their first glance at each other to the exchange of vows, the joy radiating from their faces was truly unforgettable.
After the ceremony, we wandered around King’s Road for their couple’s wedding shoot. These are always some of my favourite moments — low-key, relaxed, and full of personality. I always encourage couples to embrace the moment, and Ellie and Keegan did just that — sipping coffee, chatting and laughing under the olive tree and enjoying every second. One of my favourite shots was taken by the lemon trees, a subtle but special detail since they got engaged in Limone, Italy. These kinds of personal touches are what I love weaving into wedding photography.
As their wedding photographer, my aim is to document each wedding in a way that feels natural and true to the couple — capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt. Ellie and Keegan’s day was full of warmth, love, and laughter, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
If you're planning something special, or just want to celebrate you, I would love to help capture it in a way that's beautiful, natural, and truly yours.✨
